Born to a family of professional musicians, Jurjen Toepoel took his first violin lesson at the age of six. He further developed his interest in music when studying Art, Culture and Media at the University of Groningen, and specializing in art management, marketing and classical music. After obtaining his Bachelor and Master degrees, Jurjen was a trainee for renowned consultancy firm LAgroup, working in in the fields of arts and leisure. He worked as an orchestra manager for the Nationaal Youth Orchestra of the Netherlands (NJO) and currently, he is the programmer classical music & opera for Parkstad Limburg Theaters.
Working exclusively as a manager for his well-established international artists, Jurjen now uses his musical understanding and his managing experience in his own artist agency: Toepoel International Management.
Jurjen represents Tjeerd Top, Alexander de Blaeij, Jos Schroevers, EnsembleCaméléon and the Luthers Bach Ensemble worldwide.
