AAA: FEAR IN MUSIC AND PAINTING – Alexander de Blaeij conducts chamber music ensemble of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra

Alexander de Blaeij will conduct a chamber music ensemble of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, performing pieces by the Scottish composer Genevieve Murphy as part of the AAA exhibition ‘Fear’ at Amsterdam’s Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum.

The young and exceptionally talented composer Genevieve Murphy created this musical performance especially for this Friday Night. Together with the Dolhuys Museum, she delved into the human psyche, focusing on the space that can be occupied by fear. And that’s naturally a theme that links perfectly with Munch and Van Gogh. Genevieve has designed a route through both museums, passing various locations where musicians from the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra will give short performances. It is a great pleasure for Alexander to work together with her and exploring this new pieces.

Concerts: Januari 8: Van Gogh Museum, Januari 15: Stedelijke Museum
